Chucktown Custom Sneakers

Ah..one more day until the Sneaker Freaks convention here in Charleston SC. Everything is done..well..so far everything is done. The R2-D2 sneaker to comemmorate the Star Wars Xbox system still needs some work but it will be ready by Saturday. This is the first sneaker event held in Charleston but this is not the first one we have been in. So with everything learned from the last sneaker summit we are ready to conquer this. The excitement is exhilarating. Cant wait to see what Charleston has to bring.

After the Sneaker Freaks convention the R2-D2 sneakers will be a give away and then only 5 pairs will be sold afterwards. The ones for sale will not have the R2-D2 voice sounds but they will have the lights. This will be our first limited edition give away along with a small sale afterwards. I cannot wait until the release day. Lets do this.

If you dont already know we have a winner for the Gears of War 3 contest. Congrats to Austyn K. of Washington! We are going to do more contest like this. We didnt think we would get this much attention for the Gears sneakers but we received much love so we will do this more often. Which brings us to another thing. We are only doing limited edition and custom orders from now on. In other words if we announce a new sneaker contest or design you will have to jump on it. After the given date of when the sneakers are available for purchase and the end date then the sneakers will not be made EVER. They will be made in a limited quantity. This keeps the value of the custom sneakers and thier worth. We will still take custom orders with the guarantee that they will never be made again. They will be made just for the client.

There is a Sneaker Fest convention coming to Charleston SC and we were asked to participate. We have done sneaker conventions before. But this time we are comin hard. The Sneaker Summit has shown us what we need to do to really show off our talent. This time we will do a custom sneaker release along with a new contest. If you are following us on Facebook then you know that we are doing a custom in response to the new Stars Wars custom Xbox. This is going to be a two part contest. First release will be R2D2 and in November we will release C3PO. Each of these will have one pair given away and we will sell 5 pairs afterwards. We are excited about this convention because participants will be able to enter the contest on the fly at our booth from thier smart phones. We will have more details soon. Stay tuned people.

We are going to start bringing back the tutorials. Two videos are already done. This first one is showing how to prep a sneaker for painting. Its taking you back to basics because if this part of the process is not right then the next few steps will not even matter. If the sneaker is not prepped correctly the paint will not stick or bond to the leather. It will just end up cracking and the sneaker becomes unwearable. Now with that said..how often does this happen? Never...if you know how to prep correctly. Do not forget your essentials: Acetone, cotton balls (alot), a glass bowl to hold acetone drenched cotton balls, and most important patience. You will know when a sneaker is prepped when the gloss feel is gone and it feels like suede to the touch. I hear starting with a black sneaker is easier because you can see when its prepped. It gets a white overtone to it. A white sneaker will turn grey. Any questions feel free to hit me up. We will be redoing the tutorial videos too.

This is our first blog. This is quite new for us but we hear blogging is whats in and how can a sneaker company bent on being fresh be left out of that loop and we exist for the love of sneakers and those that love them with us.  So welcome to our new blog.
